Withy Grove Park Play Area, Bamber Bridge

On the 30th June, Withy Grove Park was officially launched and announced as open to the public by the Mayor of South Ribble. The project between South Ribble Council and Proludic Ltd which ran for 28 weeks is now one of the largest in the UK.

The Park which had £500,000 of funding backing it is already proving to be a popular attraction. Particularly as £40,000 of the funding from Rock FM Help a Local Child campaign was pledged in order to increase the amount of inclusive equipment in the play area.

The large park has been split into a number of zones with various changes in levels, planting and surfacing to add to its appeal. The central feature of the park is a 6 metres high volcano tower with varying platforms, bridges and slides for children to enjoy.

The park has just been awarded a 5 star Rospa quality award for its play value and inclusion for disabled people.
