Development of play areas: integration of furniture

Recreation areas are a place for the whole community to enjoy; furniture plays an important role in this. In response to this need Proludic will be launching a new range of furniture, available from January 2009.

The Furniture range will compliment the existing play and sports equipment and provide extra choice when specifying and creating a play /leisure space...

Highly specific selection criteria

Furniture often plays an integral part of many play area projects. When selecting furniture the decision makers make their choice mostly based on functionality and safety. Consideration is also given to its ability to compliment the project as a whole.

The concept

The role of furniture in a public space is above all functionality and consideration must be taken as to where the items are to be placed. The stylish look and design of the new furniture makes it an ideal choice as it takes its inspiration from leisure area design.

As was already the case for Neotu, the elements (benches with or without backs, tables, waste bins, etc.) can be combined to create rest and relaxation areas for children and adults.

To provide a full range of solutions in the field of leisure area development, Proludic has also added fences and gates to its furniture collection.

Fences

Designed to create a visual and practical solution to providing added safety where necessary. Compact composite panels (PCCs) can be inserted, and can be engraved or decorated with openwork to personalize play or sports areas.

Gates

These are fitted with safety systems to prevent children from getting their fingers caught, ensuring enhanced safety for children and all users.

Design and materials

Our new line of furniture has been fully designed and tested by our own team. As well as being practical and functional, the furniture is aesthetically pleasing.
Weather conditions, levels of use, and the issue of vandalism, were taken into account at the design stage, as these factors have direct effects on maintenance costs over the medium term.

The materials used in our new furniture range combine aesthetic design with resistance to weathering, wear and vandalism. To ensure long service life, we have used composite strips and painted steel.
Our new range is very easy to maintain and keep clean.

Our Furniture catalogue will be available early in 2009.
